Calling all Hawai'i Friends: help us with the page!
My kids, who were young at the time of our visit, were exposed to the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy and Japanese-American internment for the first time in their lives at these institutions. The importance of what is expressed in Hawai'i's museums and cultural sites is only overshadowed by how it is expressed; with pride and enthusiasm, and a firm foot in a shared cultural history.

One year of Pacific History Guide!
The mission of this website remains unchanged: we aim to connect military members, veterans, and their families with historical insights into their duty stations, TAD locations, and ports of call throughout the Pacific. We're here for you, and here to stay.

Calling all Korea hands: help us expand the page!

Year in Review: 2025
My stated goals at the beginning was to end 2025 with ten locations; I checked that off on November 1, with the addition of Hawai'i, having already added Singapore, Australia, and San Diego to the location pages.

If this sounds like you, then the resources page is built with you in mind as well.

Aloha! Welcome to Hawai'i!
Greetings Pacific History Guide fans, today I'm happy to unveil our newest location, the beautiful state of Hawai'i . The Hawaiian Islands are comprised of 137 volcanic islands stretching across 1,520 miles of ocean in two separate groups, the Windward Islands in the southeast and the Leeward in the northwest. The state of Hawaii includes both island groups, but for the sake of simplicity, nearly all state maps (and this guide) capture the Windward Islands only; these include
