Greetings PHG fans! Two weeks ago, we revealed the Australia section of the guide. Since then, I've gotten some great feedback on places and items of interest around the country, primarily from my friend Dave Long. Among them was the Naval Historical Society of Australia, which has a fantastic website dedicated to education, outreach, and scholarship. Among the vast array of information is a list of naval heritage sites of Australia,

I've gone through the pages for these sites and added them to the various pages, such as Victoria, Western Australia, and New South Wales. They've also been added to the official Pacific History Guide Google Maps list, which now has over 3,700 locations. The various pages on the PHG website are designed to be used in tandem with google maps, so that you can easily find what you're looking for.

Another great resource Dave shared with me is this page, which lists 15 wrecks that are popular dive sites around Australia. Some of these are wrecks that have been intentionally sunk as reefs, while others were lost at sea due to weather or enemy action.

Next time you find yourself down under, bring Pacific History Guide with you and let us know what you've found! Our goal with this website is to get it into the port briefs and liberty plans of our fellow servicemembers, so they can spend a little less time seeing the same old bars and tourist traps and a little more time discovering history.

Good luck!

Tony
